Anatomy Mapper® models standardize and enhance anatomic site description accuracy, precision, and reproducibility. The Anatomy Mapper® multidimensional maps and models streamline documentation, support over 100 languages, generate research-ready and interoperable health data, and much more. We generate AI-ready health data with codeable concepts and Semantic Coordination™ capabilities.

Anatomy Mapper® maps and language are a source of truth for AI models to generate interoperable descriptions and encodings for anatomy. Proprietary Semantic Coordination™ capabilities enable enhanced language-based targeting of anatomic locations on images. Anatomy Mapper® language is recognized as an international standard, with the base language being validated and adopted into ICD-11. Anatomy Mapper® workflows enhance clinical efficiency and data labeling with understandable models that require no actual medical knowledge to use. The Anatomy Mapper® IP portfolio can be leveraged in language models, vision-language models, and multimodal models to support health AI. The Anatomy Mapper® EDU version is free to use for registered human users, and generates lists of locations for findings and notes that can be pasted into individual patient charts.

When accounting for mirroring, there are over 3.2 million language-vision pairs and 20 million trainable language parameters just for surface anatomy. Anatomy Mapper® multimodal models serve as a source of truth for Artificial Intelligence and enable clinically useful workflows.

Anatomy Mapper was founded by Dr. Matthew Molenda in 2009, and has led to numerous scholarly article publications.

Anatomy Mapper® terminology and maps are recognized as an international standard. The standardized surface topography terms are presented in a hierarchical lexicon and have been adopted into the World Health Organization's ICD-11.

“ICD-ST” represents years of international collaboration to validate a hierarchical surface topography lexicon. “ICD-ST” on AnatomyMapper.com is labeled as such with permission from the World Health Organization. The standardized terminology was used as the foundational lexicon to derive “Surface Topography” in the International Classification of Diseases 11th revision, ICD-11.

ABOUT the NYU Labeling System
Originally drawn in the early 1970’s under the auspices of Dr. Alfred Kopf for the New York University Melanoma Clinical Cooperative Group, this numbering system allowed clinicians to easily identify areas of the body in a standardized way for lesion tracking over time. As of 2015, it is still used in numerous large health systems today, including but not limited to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Cleveland Clinic, and Mayo Clinic.
